Feelings in the workspace - Kevin Indig

Welcome, Kevin Indig. His official title is director of SEO for Shopify. But he really has two roles: Leading the SEO and secondly, leading the organic growth mission at Shopify, which is a cross functional team of about 100 people. Interestingly enough, Shopify decided to go 100% remote forever, when the pandemic broke out.

 

Now, I knew I wanted to have Kevin on the show after we met at a panel about SEO. And don’t worry this episode is zero about SEO and all about conscious leadership. Which is what we realized at the panel: We both share that passion and curiosity!

 

And guess what, we talk about trust and feelings at work. Why they matter and why you need to factor them in.

 

I love Kevin’s perspective on leadership, he said: One is to inspire a team or organization to go after a shared goal. And the second one is to foster maximum trust within the team. I think that all of leadership really comes down to two of those two things.
